Job Description

Senior Interior Designer

Job Summary:

Alchemy Studio design team is looking for a Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager to join the team immediately. The ideal candidate would be a creative, self-motivated and meticulous individual who is looking for a long-term position and to grow professionally with the firm. This person will work closely with the team on all phases of design. Applicants should be very familiar with the interior design process from concept to installation as well as familiar with the New York City design community and centers.

Responsibilities:

· Designing and presenting concepts to team for review.

· Maintaining and updating the project schedules and assigning staff to make sure that all project deliverables are met.

· Managing design teams and deliverables.

· Specifying and sourcing materials, lighting, hardware, appliances, fixtures and furniture for projects.

· Designing and overseeing custom millwork and furniture pieces.

· Creating graphics and visual presentations.

· Creation of project documentation including full construction document sets. Interior construction and millwork detailing is a must.

· Work closely and communicate with firm principals and report project status.

· Communicate and coordinate with outside consultants and vendors.

· Attend regular site visits at key stages.

· Assist with FF&E installs.

· Update and maintain material library and schedule and coordinate vendor meetings.

· Proactive approach and ability to meet project timelines and client expectations.

Requirements:

· 7-10 years professional experience. Experience in NYC multi-family residential is a must.

· Experience managing a team for 1 or more projects.

· Excellent presentation skills including generation of presentations and articulating design information to clients.

· Basic knowledge of current building codes and ADA requirements.

· Strong communication, organization and time management skills and ability to work in a team environment.

· Self-motivated and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment.

· Knowledge of local and online showrooms and resources as well as industry trends.

· Proficiency in writing specifications and reviewing of shop drawings and submittals.

· Bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.

· Highly proficient in AutoCAD

· Highly proficient in Revit

· Highly proficient in Sketch-up

· Adobe Creative Suite
