**Are you excited about detecting and mitigating the latest cyber attacks?** **Would you enjoy handling massive data sets, solving hard problems, and having a deep passion for security?** **Join our Global Web Security Group** Our team provides the security intelligence and detections for the Apps and API Protector (AAP) web application firewall (WAF) product. We research the latest/greatest web application attacks and vulnerabilities and develop methods for detecting them with the AAP product. **Shape internet security** As a Senior Security Researcher, you will be focusing on the latest web application threats research and the most advanced evasions against our WAF technology, affecting thousands of customers. As a Security Researcher, you will be responsible for: + Conducting in-depth research of customers' attack data to improve our detection + Working with Big Data to identify opportunities to enhance protection and make it more accurate. + Prototyping innovative detection and work with developers to get those patents out in the product + Attacking and updating WAF/API Security detection rules + Hunting and research of latest web attack variants and CVEs + Publishing research and speaking on worldwide security community stages **Do what you love** To be successful in this role you will: + Have 5+ years of web hacking or web data analysis. + Have passion for large scale Security Big Data analysis, Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis + Have an understanding of the cybersecurity threat landscape, and the attackers mindset. + Have experience with Python, iPython, Pandas, and data visualization tools (Tablue, Power BI, etc.) + Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. **Work in a way that works for you** FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $126,100 - $261,900/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
