Job Description

The Senior Construction Project Manager is an experienced construction manager with extensive hospitality construction experience and expertise in project management, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.

Position Overview

A leading real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee the construction and development of a project on Kauai. This role requires an experienced leader in hospitality and resort construction who can drive projects from planning to completion while ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale commercial development, construction project management, and collaboration with contractors, architects, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of resort construction projects.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Oversee the selection and management of general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
• Ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication between internal teams, design teams, and contractors.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, aligning with company objectives.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management.

Skills

• Extensive experience in hospitality construction, including hotels, resorts, and large-scale developments.
• Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and vendors.
• Proficiency in construction management software (Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or Finance.
• 5+ years experience in hospitality/resort construction project management.
• Must be currently located in Hawaii or able to work on Kauai (company will provide travel/accommodations if commuting from another island).
• Experience in real estate development is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
