Position Overview:

Onward Search is seeking three dedicated School Social Workers (SSWs) to join a school district in Auburn Hills, MI. These full-time, in-person positions start ASAP and run through June 13, 2025, with potential for extension into the next school year.

Position Details:

• Location: Auburn Hills, MI (On-site only)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:35 PM
• Hours: 37.5 – 40 hours per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: June 13, 2025 (potential for renewal)

Open Positions:

Autism Program – High Need (Elementary)

• Serve two self-contained classrooms with approximately 20 high-needs students
• Work alongside a BCBA for behavioral support
• Collaborate with another SSW in the building who supports resource students

Emotional Impairments (Elementary)

• Caseload of 35 students
• Provide social-emotional and behavioral support to students in an Emotional Impairments classroom

Early Childhood Program – Inclusive Preschool

• Work with a mix of special education and general education preschoolers
• Support the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) and grant-funded initiatives
• Collaborate with educators to foster an inclusive early learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ emotional and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Crisis Intervention Strategies
• Conduct assessments and collaborate on IEPs and intervention plans
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to create a positive learning environment
• Advocate for students and connect families with community resources

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan School Social Worker (SSW) License or eligibility to obtain one
• LLMSW (Limited License Master of Social Work) may be considered
