A global financial institution with a strong North American presence and growing international reach is seeking a VP-level Portfolio Margin & Risk Manager to join its Prime Services team. This is a hybrid role based in New York City , offering the opportunity to lead and grow within a dynamic, well-resourced environment that values innovation and proactive risk management.

The successful candidate will manage a team of two , with potential for future expansion. This role is ideal for someone with 7+ years of experience in prime brokerage, margin, or collateral management — someone who’s beyond the operations phase and ready to bring strategic oversight and leadership to a growing function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead portfolio margin and risk oversight across equity and fixed income products, including repo transactions
• Own daily margin call processes, collateral optimization, and risk analytics
• Interpret and apply Reg T, Portfolio Margin, and Repo Margin methodologies
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, and Treasury teams to manage and mitigate exposures
• Supervise and mentor a team of two analysts, with potential to scale the team
• Drive automation and workflow improvements, enhancing operational efficiency and control
• Serve as a key contact for internal stakeholders and client-facing teams regarding margin and collateral activity
• Utilize systems like ADP and Syncova to support and streamline margin operations and reporting

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in prime brokerage, margin risk, or collateral management roles
• Deep familiarity with Reg T , portfolio margin , and ideally repo margin
• Product knowledge across equities and fixed income , including repo financing
• Experience with margin systems such as ADP and/or Syncova (strong plus)
• Strong leadership and people management skills; experience mentoring or managing teams
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities
