OPPORTUNITY PROFILE: – Millennium Hotel Knickerbocker Chicago Hotel General Manager
The Millennium Hotel Knickerbocker Chicago is looking for a dynamic, hands-on, market savvy General Manager to work for a fun, cool and growing Hotel Company. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Hotel General Manager for full service or lifestyle brands. The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, day-to-day staff management, and guest experience. He/she should be a true ambassador of the property and live, breath and enjoy the vibrant hotel brand.
The General Manger will provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of the service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction. The General Manager will work very closely with the corporate office, hotel owners and other stake holders. Responsible for managing the Hotels management team (HOD's) and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest experience, the ideal candidate would also be required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the Organizational chart.
• Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
• Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
• Handle complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures.
• Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
• Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
• Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel and management.
• Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the property.
• Develop improvement actions, carry out costs savings.
• A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
• Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and make decisions accordingly.
• Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, are on target and accurate.
• Maximize room yield and hotel revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting for the owners and stake holders.
• Exceed brand expectations and be an ambassador for the Company brand.
• Conduct regular meetings with management and staff.
Education, Experience and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality management, or a combination of school and experience.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as General Manager
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Knowledge or working experience within a unionized environment
• Extensive knowledge of leisure, hotel and service sector.
• Pre-opening experience or rebranding and change management experience a plus.
• Savvy Chicago market knowledge and experience would be an asset.
• Outstanding leadership and management skills.
• Extensive hands-on GM experience.
• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Possess strong commercial acumen, with experience in increasing profitability.
• Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results in a similar sized property.

• Previous experience in a similar large single or multi-site role, especially as it relates to the hospitality industry and General Management.

• Effective management skills (upwards and downwards) and the willingness to coach and train others.
• Hands-on positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience with properties with a multitude of revenue departments, Sales and Marketing, F&B, Housekeeping etc.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and aptitude to perform and stay focused in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. • A tactical and strategic thinker. • A hands-on people leader.
