Litigation Associate Attorney- Family Law

Location: Syracuse, NY (*Additional Attorney opportunities in NYS in Saratoga Springs, Albany, and Rochester*)

Job Type: Full-time

Experience Level: 6 Months

Salary: Ranges on experience up to $115,000 annually

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Attorney with at least 6 months of litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling contested family law cases, including court appearances, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in family law litigation, including divorce, custody, support, and restraining order cases
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
• Appear in court for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients and guide them through the litigation process
• Work collaboratively with support staff and fellow attorneys to ensure optimal case outcomes
• Engage in negotiation and mediation to resolve disputes when possible

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in NY
• 6 months of litigation experience
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate client service while maintaining professionalism in high-conflict situations
