Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team in Geismar, LA. This role is critical for maintaining quality control standards through precise laboratory testing, data management, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong computer proficiency, and familiarity with natural gas or methanol testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to manage samples, testing, results, specifications, and reports.
• Conduct laboratory instrumental analyses, primarily using gas chromatography, for product quality control and compliance testing.
• Perform wet lab bench chemistry analyses, including color assays, corrosion tests, titrations, vapor pressure, TOC, pH, and specific gravity.
• Conduct water testing and maintain sample cylinders, containers, labels, and other sampling systems.
• Troubleshoot and communicate effectively regarding laboratory instrument and system performance.
• Ensure adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and consumables to maintain seamless operations.
• Handle and dispose of laboratory wastes following established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor test method performance using statistical quality control tools.
• Review results to ensure data entered in LIMS is accurate, complete, and error-free.
• Provide timely analytical data reporting to customers.

Qualifications:

• Two years of laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience with natural gas, methanol testing, or water testing is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with LIMS and other analytical software systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of statistical quality control practices and the ability to apply them in a laboratory environment.
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn general computer-based training systems.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

• Shift work: 4 weeks on day shift, followed by 2 weeks on night shift.
