Britt Design Studio, an interior design firm based in Ridgewood, NJ, is looking for a talented and driven team member to join the company as it embarks on exciting new ventures. Our work is considered layered and fresh with a relaxed sensibility and luxurious feel while infusing vintage accents and neutral color.

We are looking for an experienced interior designer to join our amazing team. You will manage projects from start to finish. Our collaborative environment and extreme attention to detail is what pushes our designs to the next level and being open to direction is a must. We expect our designers to be up to date with the latest finishes and furnishings as well as what’s trending in the industry.

You will create, manage, and implement every step of client projects - sourcing products and materials, communicating with vendors and contractors, creating mood boards and design boards, problem solving, and project installations. You will meet with clients, work with vendors and contractors, collaborate with other designers on the team, and coordinate with various BDS teams to make everything come together.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

· 3+ years of professional interior design experience

· Proficiency in AutoCAD or Chief Architect and Adobe Suite

· Knowledge of IVY or Asana a bonus

· A solid understanding of Adobe Photoshop

· Strong knowledge of trade sources

· Great communication skills and experience consulting directly with clients

· Confidence and ability to communicate your ideas clearly

· Strong leadership and self-motivation

· Great multi-tasking skills

· The ability to work with a team and take direction

· Responsible, flexible and detail-oriented with a killer work ethic and sound judgement

· Friendly & engaging personality with strong client service skills (great attitudes, no egos)

· College degree required

· Must be able to bring own laptop to work

· Strong research, writing, organizational and grammar skills

· Loves to work in a digital environment

THE JOB

Includes, but not limited to:

· Plan and manage projects through all phases of development including pre-design, schematic design, design development, construction documents and administration.

· Understand contractual liabilities as they relate to designers, architects, owners and projects including fee calculations.

· Work directly with clients and is the point person for the entire project

· Approve orders for projects

· Manage the day to day with design staff

· Design boards for presentations along with required material costs and estimates

· Installations at client homes

· Develop business relationships with builders, architects, realtors and developers

· Position is an office position but occasionally physical work (such as moving small furniture, carrying accessories, etc.) will be required
