Job Description

The Epidemiologist 1 will play a key role in advancing overdose surveillance and strengthening the statewide multidisciplinary overdose working group. This includes the development of new surveillance tools and analytic briefs to assist partners in making data-driven decisions for overdose prevention and response. The position will also facilitate the working group meetings by coordinating monthly continued learning opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.

Required/Desired/Highly desired Skills:

• The preferred candidate will have an MPH or PhD with significant experience in public health, overdose surveillance, or health data analysis.
• Proficiency in R or SAS (SQL experience preferred).
• Proficiency in a data visualization software, such as Tableau or R.
• Experience working with large datasets and developing analytic briefs.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Experience facilitating meetings, coordinating stakeholders, and engaging multidisciplinary partners.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
