Job Description

An engineering services firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and providing oversight for electrical systems in renewable energy projects. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering, the ability to stamp engineering drawings, and the implementation of safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and regulations. This includes power distribution, lighting systems, electrical controls, and instrumentation.
  • Review and stamp engineering drawings, ensuring all electrical designs meet regulatory, safety, and performance standards.
  • Oversee the electrical aspects of projects from inception through to completion. This includes coordination with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of electrical systems.
  • Ensure all designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and other relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems during design and construction phases.
  • Ensure all electrical designs adhere to OSHA safety standards and guidelines. Promote a safety-first culture across all stages of the project.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and renewable energy specialists, to develop integrated solutions for energy generation projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports, proposals, and documentation for clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay current with industry trends, electrical engineering standards, and renewable energy technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid PE license in Electrical Engineering and be able to stamp and seal drawings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in renewable energy projects.
  • Proficient in electrical design software (PSSE, PSCAD, TSAT & CYMCAP).
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and renewable energy systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, energy storage, etc.).
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and simulation tools.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
